Mercenaries Guide

Mercenaries are used as support while hunting monsters. They are like another player and most of their functions are automated. They can hunt, heal and use skills just like a player. The role of the mercenary is very wide and can vary from a supportive hunter for levelling up to an aggresive sidekick for Wars. Note that Mercenaries can't be used to Player Kill in Current Episode.

How to get a Mercenary ?

A mercenary can be summoned from any of the following NPC's 1. Bellua at Quanato 2. Rosee at Temoz.

To summon a merc, talk to the NPC and choose 'Open NPC Window' option. Then you will see the NPC shop window.

The left half of the shop shows the mercenaries window of the player. The other half on the right shows the Mercenary shop window of the Bar NPC. The Bar NPC also sells lottery tickets which can be accessed by clicking on the different Tabs on top of the shop.

The four colored stones shown in the picture above represent the four different types of mercenary you can buy. They are as tabulated below

  • Warrior - Blue stone
  • Holy Knight - Red stone
  • Mage - Yellow Stone
  • Archer - Green stone

A mercenary stone costs 500000 Wz.

To buy a mercenary stone click on the stone of your choice(warrior, mage, archer or Paladin) and you will be prompted to enter a name for your mercenary provided you have sufficient amount of Woonz in your inventory (not in your storage).

Once you enter a name and click OK. The stone will be available in your mercenary inventory.

Equipment and Skill Tab

You have to Equip your merc. Only then the mercenary will be active and hunt with you. To equip mercenary open the mercenary window by pressing "Left Alt + I". When you call the Mercenary window the 'Equipment and Skill' tab will be open by default. Place the stone of the mercenary you want to use on the top right slot. This Mercenary is currently active. When you do so you will see a screen similar to your inventory except that there won't be any storage slots, only equip slots. The Various options of the Mercenary Equipment and skill Window are explained below:

1. Active Mercenary Slot

The Mercenary which you want to use currently has to be placed in this slot. The other three slots can be used to keep extra mercenry stones. However they will not be active. Only one Mercenary can be active at a time. The following are descriptions about equiping your mercenary. The items used to equip mercenaries are the same as that of normal players. They also follow the same requirements of STR and DEX. To equip these items open your Inventory with the mercenary window open and drag and drop the items in their slots. The various equipment slots are explained below.

These Equipments will not show up on the mercenary models like player's equipment.

2. Amulet Slot

Any Amulet whose level requirement is satisfied can be put in this slot.

3. Helmet Slot

Any head gear whose class and stats ( STR & DEX ) requirements are satisified by the mercenary can be placed in this slot.

5. Weapon Slot 1

6. Armor Slot

Any body Armor whose class and stats ( STR & DEX ) requirements are satisified by the mercenary can be placed in this slot.

7. Weapon Slot 2

8. Gloves Slot

Any pair of gloves whose class and stats ( STR & DEX ) requirements are satisified by the mercenary can be placed in this slot.

9. Pants Slot

Any pants whose class and stats ( STR & DEX ) requirements are satisified by the mercenary can be placed in this slot.

Experience

The active mercenary always gains experience along with the player while hunting monsters. You can always view the total current experience of your mercenary by clicking "Alt+A".

Note
At each level up of the mercenary you get 10 skill points which you can distribute to STR/DEX/VITA/MANA of the mercenary just like you do in player level up. Besides the skill points you get 1 MSP per level by which you can buy the Mercenary passive skills.

Policy

Attack policy of the mercenary can be divided in to 4 types:

  • Donot attack enemy: In this policy the mercenary doesn't attack the monster but its skill has an effect on the player. (Shortcut : B)
  • Attack the enemy that Player first attacks : In this policy whomsoever monster gets hit from the player the mercenary hits the same. (Shortcut :V)
  • Attack the enemy that attacks player : In this policy the mercenary hits the monster first which attacks its Master/Player. (Shortcut : M)
  • Attack Closest enemy: In this policy the mercenary hits the closest monster. (Shortcut : N)

Recovery Policy

This tab is the HP filling policy we set for a mercenary. Suppose we keep the HP recovery setting of the mercenary at 90%, then as soon as the Hp of the mercenary decreases beyond 90% the mercenary auto refills its HP. We can even refill the HP of the mercenary by using the shortcut "F7".

Note
* The active mercenary dies as soon as its Master/Player dies or the Player HP becomes Zero.
* You cannot Sell/Trade your mercenaries to other players.

Leveling Maps for Mercenaries

Kelp Manor (KM) and Kelp Garden (KG) which can be accessed from Farah, The Teleporter NPC in Citadel, is the primary mercenary leveling map. It is a NON-PK, NON-EXP Loss map for players who want to go AFK and level up their mercenaries by forming parties.

Sniperwolf's Guide (Archer Mercenary)

Criteria of mercenary in various bossing maps
*In normal Hatrel bossing you need 165+ levels
*In Clororence bossing u need 185+levels (Except Sirpel)
*In Godbossing (Ranias, Realms etc.) u need 220+ levels

Mercenary Leveling
*Make a separate character around 110 level and acquire your Free G8 Bow/Cross-bow weapon from website and equip it on your mercenary
*Get a party to join in Kelp Manor and Level up your Mercenary for a week or so based on how much time you get
*After some days when your mercenary reaches to 185 Level+, you can start bossing or level up based on your goals getting assisted from your mercenary to do it faster

Mercenary Skill Points and Statistics
*When your mercenary reaches to Level 50, it should be able to wear a grade 6 set which can be acquired for free from website (check Guide section) and around Level 60 it should be able to wear the Grade 8 mounted maxed weapon which can be acquired for free from website (check Guide section)
*After you get the set for mercenary you can start putting skillpoints in mercenary towards Grade 9 Bow weapon and craft it as it would help you later for Godbossing in sidhe and Labyrinth maps
*If you have the stats for g9 bow your mercenary would be near to level 90-100
*For hatrel bossing mercenary level should be atleast 165 level (lower the merc level more the pots are sucked by boss) and stats should be 600 in DEX and rest in attack
*Same goes with the clororence as well
*For godbossing I suggest to put 700 points in DEX so pots are sucked slower

Merc PSP
*For war-based gameplay:You will require the Hustler, Fatality max at first which you can get near 150 or 160 level, then at 210 level you can max out your precision.
*For hunting gameplay: You will need Offensive Mastery and Fatality max. out. If you are going for godbossing in Sidhe and Labyrinth get your Defense Mastery max. out too
